Be the Ghandi!

*** Dreamt Nov 7-8, 2010 ***

I was at a fancy beachhouse/resort with a lot of other people, and people kept getting killed. We were all quite disturbed by the number of people in our party who were getting killed or maimed, but none of us could figure out who was doing it.

We - as scary movies will teach you is the proper response to a series of killings - decided to split up into small groups to try to catch the murder. Part of the problem was that the resort place we were at was really difficult to get from Point A to Point B, even if you could easily SEE Point B from Point A. There were lots of big windows and locked glass doors, so we'd see a location and decide to go there, but to get there we'd have to do lots of backtracking and go sortof "the long way" if we wanted to make it there.

That's when I saw them! A pair of blue, furry, humanoid creatures (not entirely unlike Sully from Monsters Inc.). I knew that they were responsible for the murders and they had to be caught, but I couldn't get to them! I'd see them through a window or a locked glass door, but by the time I'd get there they'd have moved to somewhere else that I could still see them, but was entirely inaccessable from my current location.

As I and the couple of people with me chased them we continued to find a trail of carnage they'd left. The most frustrating thing was that it seemed like the injured or dead people we'd find had been attacked just SECONDS before we got there...we couldn't figure out how they were avoiding us. Finally, we were pretty sure they'd gone into one particular room, so one of the people in my group reach for the door, and when he opened it we found another person there who'd just BARELY been stabbed, but there was no sign of the blue creatures and nowhere they could have gone. Suddenly something I'd seen moments before but hadn't really NOTICED caught my attention, I decided to rewind to just before we'd entered the room (I didn't realize I was dreaming but definitely made a decision to rewind...it was like I was watching a movie). After rewinding I watched extremely closely as the guy with me opened the door and I saw that without knowing it, he had stuck a knife through the space between the door & frame right as he was opening the door. He had unknowingly been the one to stab the person in the room RIGHT before we went in.

Suddenly it all made sense to me. The blue creatures were making us see things that weren't real & do things that we didn't know we were doing. I gathered everyone together and told them what was happening. We all agreed that we wouldn't attack each other and that even if it LOOKED like someone was going to attack you, to just ignore it, because it was the creatures making us hallucinate things. We adopted the motto, "Be the Ghandi", meaning to be passive even if you were going to be attacked. We said our little motto several times to ensure everybody remembered it, and when people started to doubt we'd remind them to be the Ghandi, and they'd immediately calm down.

I seem to have a vague memory of seeing (or maybe just imagining) the creatures looking very disappointed that we were no longer playing their little game.

Then I woke up.

World of Warcraft Trunk

*** Dreamt Nov 1-2, 2010 ***

I was at the childhood home of my friend Core-Y, and when I looked East up the road I saw a small blue pick-up truck heading in our direction.

When it got closer I saw that the truck was completely decorated with "World of Warcraft" paraphanelia. This included a banner on the side of the truck, streamers, and boxes of the Collector's Editions of the various expansion packs that have come out for the game.

At about this point I realized that the truck wasn't "driving" at all...it was sort of jumping down the road. Not understanding how this was possible I bend down so I could see under the truck, and there was my brother Nick, dressed from head to toe like a Dwarf, carrying the World of Warcraft truck on his back, jumping down the road.

I hollared to him, "Nick! What are you doing?!" As a reply I heard a sort of crazy laugh come from under the truck and he continued jumping down the road.

As I turned away I said, "Man, he must REALLY want to play that game."

Then I woke up.
